Who I am

My academic path took me to the University of Toronto where I learned about the body and mind within their kinesiology program. Using a feminist lens, I was awarded a research grant to study the affects of sport mentorship in the lives of teenage girls (and forevermore I’ve loved this age group).

Ever the learner, I pursued my Masters of Religion Education while also under the surface I grappled with my own faith and spiritual identity. It’s for this reason I’m grateful for this ‘detour’ as my emergent self needed time to ask brave new questions.

Now, after having traveled into the belly of many things - religion, marriage, divorce, elite sport, cultural motherhood, trauma and modern isolation - I’ve found that while pain and painful systems abound so is our ability to recognize a thread of connection that leads us more and more into our own power.

My Master of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University was the culmination of all of this: choice, authenticity, and self-trust. I’ve found home in my work and this opportunity to sit with others and make way for their growth is a real honour.

All the dots connecting - writing, teaching, science, health, body, spirituality, and healing; my traveled road of the heart, soul and mind.
